The terms sheepskin and shearling describe different products and garments crafted from the hide of a lamb. The words often are used interchangeably and can create some confusion for consumers. Shearling lambskin is actually the correct term for such material, however because the term sheepskin is so popular, many retailers will refer to sheepskin items or combine the two terms and describe shearling sheepskin, when in fact, all items are made from shearling lambskin.
